Hey! hey! What's this age-ist language doing on a Student Affairs oriented website!?! I resemble that remark! But I understand what you mean. I think the way to get those who are reluctant to support technology is to help them understand how it would work for them, and assure them that they will not be left behind by it. For example, I recall one person who would not support a new on-line reporting because they would not get a paper report. We made sure this person got paper reports... and then when s/he found that everyone was about a half a day ahead of him/her because they had to wait for the snail-mail to come through, they asked about how to get the on-line report. With some very tender teaching and low tech talking training, s/he got online and up to speed. Hopefully those technophobes are close to retirement though eh? (Did I just say that out loud?)
