What does one do in the Leadership office? What sort of programs, workshops, trips, etc does one design, deliver, or oversee?
Hey there,
There's a great newsletter issue from the National Clearinghouse for Leadership Programs that offers some great overview articles in their most recent publication.
If you're at a school lucky enough to have a "leadership office," it typically includes both curricular and co-curricular programs ranging from seminar series to academic courses, retreats, conferences, mentoring programs... a long list!
I think most institutions have this area embedded in other peoples' job descriptions, but if you find a job description in New England that focuses on this area I will race you there :-)

This office has 1 full-time professional, 1 AmeriCorps Vista, usually at least 1 graduate student intern, and numerous student employees. They perform many of the functions Cindy listed.
I'm currently a student worker in The Office of Student Leadership and Service at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. We currently have 3 Student Affairs Professionals, 1 Office Manager, and about 7 Student Workers.
You can find info about programs we host on our website:
